R.E.A.C.H is the European law on chemicals and their safe use. It deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. R.E.A.C.H replaces previous European laws related to chemicals and is complementary to other environmental and safety legislation. It does not replace sector specific legislation (for example on cosmetics or detergents).

R.E.A.C.H is designed to manage and control the potential hazards and risks to human health and the environment from the manufacture, import and use of chemicals within the EU and at the same time enhance the competitiveness of European industry by fostering innovation.

What are the primary objectives of the Regulation?
